Panthers make early season deal with Wolves

2013-09-07

#21 Thomas Strocel is seen here in action against the Kerry Park Islanders. Strocel was dealt this afternoon to the Westshore Wolves and is expected to make his debut when the Wolves face the Victoria Cougars tomorrow afternoon at the Archie Browning.

19-year-old Thomas Strocel has been dealt from the Peninsula Panthers to the Westshore Wolves.

Less than 15-hours after knocking off the Kerry Park Islanders in their season opener, the Peninsula Panthers made an off-ice move by dealing the playing rights of 19-year-old forward Thomas Strocel to the Westshore Wolves.  The Panthers will receive future considerations in return.

The Wolves had run into a string of bad luck in the injury department to start the season and Wolves GM Ken Carson was in discussions with the Panthers earlier this morning with Pete Zubersky.  "We have no issues right now in terms of injuries but it seems that in this game everyone gets a turn.  This seemed like the right fit and Thomas will have a chance to move to Westshore and get more ice right now than he might have with our squad.  I called Thomas and he agreed that this was a good move for him at this point, I suppose we will all see how this goes."

Strocel will not have a long wait to jump in with his new club as the Wolves travel to the Archie Browning to take on the Cougars Sunday afternoon.
