#3 Cody Breitenstein and #24 Ben Meek sign autographs for students at Brentwood Elementary School

Five members of the Peninsula Panthers Hockey Club teamed up with the Central Saanich Police Service at Brentwood Elementry in a fun-filled game of floor hockey.

When two members of the Central Saanich Police Service called out the names of five Peninsula Panthers Hockey Players, the players passed them the puck and the team's support.  Cody Breitenstein, Dane Gibson, Ben Meek, Spencer Loverock and Cole Glover arrived at Brentwood Elementary School just after 11:00 am and 90 minutes later there were many happy students with smiles from ear to ear.  The Panthers partnered with CSPS to put together a floor hockey team to do battle with the students.  And when the game ended, there were only winners.

"The event was a huge hit," stated Panthers' Head Coach Rob Armstrong.  "We have partnered with the Central Saanich Police Service several times last year and we plan to be involved with them many times over the next several months in going into schools and meeting with the kids.  Officer Pat Bryant contacted our Club and we were thrilled to be offered a chance to give back to the community out here on the Peninsula."

After the game was complete, the Panthers gave out free Souvenier programs and were there to offer autographs.  The entire school was invited out to the Panthers game this evening against the Victoria Cougars at no cost and the team is hoping that many of the children take the Club up on their offer.

The Panthers host the Cougars at the Panorama Recreation Centre this evening with the puck set to drop at 7:30 pm.  A large crowd is expected to be on hand to enjoy this heated rivalry once again.
