Six Peninsula Panthers players have added an extra game to their already busy schedule after being recognized and honoured by Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League's bench bosses earlier this week.  Forwards Ethan Lingard, Carson Harris, Ty Barrie and defenceman Risto Ringma were named to the South Prospects squad while goaltender Silas Currie and forward Luka Jansen van Rensburg were selected to the South All-Star team.

The South Division prospects and All-Stars will play their North Division opponents in Lake Cowichan on Sunday, January 28th.  The Prospects game is set to go at 10:30 am followed by a Lake Cowichan Mayor's Lunch.  The All-Star game will be next on tap with the puck set to drop in the early afternoon.

"All six of these guys have worked hard all season and deserve the accolades they are receiving at this point," said Panthers Owner Pete Zubersky.  "The Coaches made these selections and they were not allowed to vote for their own players. I think it is a really fair way of choosing each players and kudos to these young men. The Panthers are well represented in the two games."

The Club is set to welcome in the Victoria Cougars this Friday and there is a lot of work to be accomplished before the Prospects and All-Star games roll around. The puck drops at the Panorama Recreation Centre on Friday night at 7:30 pm and the new-look Cats will be on the prowl for two all-important points.
