The Peninsula Panthers have taken care of the logjam between the pipes after moving 17-year-old Goaltender Rogan Bacon to the Nanaimo Buccaneers early Saturday afternoon.  With the recent additions of Ashton Lukan and Brady Kelly, minutes were going to be difficult for Bacon to find and after discussions with the youngster and his agent, Panthers General Manager Brad Tippett made the move.

Bacon had garnered the lion's share of the playing time after 20-year-old starter Connor Svienson could not continue with the Club due to work commitments earlier this season.  He had shown flashes of being a solid starter in the League but the Club was looking for more consistent outings and thus Bacon was moved.

"I think he will be really good in our League at some point," said Owner Pete Zubersky.  "He is a fantastic young man and we just felt that with our group and where we are in the process, it was going to be hard to find him playing time.  We have a room of guys that we feel can win right now and we believe Rogan needs a bit more time to develop and really hit his stride.  Nanaimo is struggling a bit right now and I think Rogan can go in there with no pressure and cut his own path.  Our entire Organization sincerely wish him the best with his new Club, we will be watching his progression from afar with a real interest."

Bacon is expected to join the Buccaneers and perhaps be in the lineup Sunday early evening when they travel to Lake Cowichan to take on the Kraken.
