The Peninsula Panthers played perhaps their most complete game of the season Friday night in VIJHL action in the friendly confines of the Panorama Recreation Centre.  And with a fully convincing 7-1 over the visiting Oceanside Generals the Club maintained their spot sitting atop the VIJHL standings.

Seven different marksmen tallied for the "Cats" who held period leads of 3-1, 5-1 and finally 7-1 and they included Thomas Spink, Mackenzie Benn-Wipp, Tanner Wort, Josh Lingard, Denver Maloney, Skyler Diamond-Burchuk and Jack Taylor.  Lingard and Diamond-Burchuk each had a three-point evening.

Goaltender Connor McKillop picked up his VIJHL leading 9th win and had a solid outing blocking 30 of 31 shots sent his way.  James Brendeland was nailed for the loss and allowed five goals on 19 shots before getting the hook for back-up netminder Cedric Rechsteiner.  Rechsteiner stopped 11 of 13 shots sent his way.  Elijah Goyer scored the lone goal for the visitors side.

The Panthers will take the weekend off and will be back to practice on Monday and Tuesday before heading to the Westshore on Wednesday evening for an egagement with the Wolves at the Q-Centre.  The Club will be back home next Friday night when they will welcome in the North Division Campbell River Storm.  The puck drops at the usual time of 7:30 pm.
