Stafford-Veale dealt to Saanich Braves

2019-08-13

19-year-old Joe Stafford-Veale was moved to the Saanich Braves as the Panthers continue to retool this off-season.

Joe Stafford-Veale was a young 16-year-old skating in his first Junior Camp with the Peninsula Panthers three years ago and after cracking the Club, he was a big part of the "Cats" for the past three seasons.  But this past summer, the skilled forward was moved to the Saanich Braves for cash as the Panthers continue to tinker with their roster.

"I really enjoyed Joe in his time here with the Club," explained GM Pete Zubersky.  "He was a forward who I thought could break out at any moment; at least he has all the tools to do just that.  The Braves have a new Head Coach in Brent Polischuck for the coming season and he has some great history with Joe and was interested in getting him over there.  I think this will be a great move for the youngster and I look forward to seeing how he does with the Braves over the next couple of seasons.  The Peninsula Panthers Organization wish him the best of luck in his hockey and beyond."

The Panthers will host the Westshore Wolves next Friday night, August 23rd at 7:30 pm for their first Exhibition Game.  The contest will feature all rookies from both Organizations.
