Scott Arbuckle started his Junior Career in Comox with the Glacier Kings and after a year with the Panthers, he will be back up Island after being traded to the Campbell River Storm.

Twenty-year-old Scott Arbuckle will be playing his trade with the Campbell River Storm when the puck drops to open up the 2019/20 VIJHL season.  The 6'4", 200lb. defenceman was dealt to the Storm in a cash transaction.

Head Coach Brad Tippett worked with Arbuckle this past season and the rearguard developed under his guidance.  Tippett had some comments regarding Arbuckle and his changing of postal codes.

"Scott came to us last year and developed into a very solid member of our defensive core – especially on the penalty killing unit. We were entering the season with eight signed defensemen, four of which were twenty-year-olds and felt that we needed to open up some room on the back end. Storm's Head Coach, Lee Stone watched Scott closely in our 7-game marathon series with Campbell River in the playoffs. He knew we had a surplus of veteran defensemen going into next year and we started to discuss Scott. Scott is from that part of the island so that was a good fit. This was another one of those transactions where it made sense for the player and made sense for both teams. Scott and I had a number of talks regarding his situation in terms of our Club.  He is very grateful for his year here. We both laughed out loud when I wished him luck in the Storm's 44 games that weren’t against us.  Our entire organization wish him the best of luck this coming season, his final year in Junior Hockey."

The Panthers will open their 2019/20 season at home on September 6th when they play host to the visiting Saanich Braves.  The Club is currently in their marketing phase for this upcoming season and if you or your business are interested in becoming part of the Panthers' sponsorship team, please contact Coreen Zubersky at 250-652-1804.
