The Peninsula Panthers will play their final two regular season games at the Panorama Recreation Centre including the one against the Nanaimo Buccaneers that had to be rescheduled.

A big crowd filtered into the Panorma Recreation Centre on Monday afternoon in the Peninsula Panthers PMHA and Fan Appreciation game sponsored by the Mary Winspear Centre and the Peninsula Co-op.  And while that game was playing out Panthers General Manager Pete Zubersky was busy fielding calls on several different issues.

"We were trying to nail down the rescheduled game with the Nanaimo Buccaneers and also had an issue with a couple of our games last weekend about our opponents lineup.  It was a busy afternoon on Monday," said Zubersky.

While one or two issues still seem a bit foggy, the Panthers have nailed down the final part of their regular season schedule.  The Club will host the Westshore Wolves on Friday night at 7:30 and will then welcome in the Nanaimo Buccaneers on Sunday morning at 11:00 am.

"The Peninsula Minor Hockey Association were working with us to try and find a game slot and an 11:00 am start time on Sunday was the only opportunity that we could find to make it work," quipped Zubersky.  "The two games could still be very important and we are awaiting a decision from BC Hockey on a question we have about a couple games played recently.  I think we will hear back soon."

Next week the Panthers will begin their playoffs and at this point it looks like the Campbell River Storm will be their opponent.  But there is still some water to go under the bridge before the first puck drops in the second season and there are a lot of eyes on the issues.

The puck is set to drop at 7:30 pm Friday night and 11:00 am on Sunday morning.
