McTavish traded to Braves

2018-10-30

18-year-old Brendan McTavish was moved to the Saanich Braves Tuesday afternoon.

The Peninsula Panthers and Saanich Braves got together for a transaction which was clearly needed for both Clubs.

Eighteen-year-old Brendan McTavish will be soon suited up for the Saanich Braves after the Braves and the Peninsula Panthers dotted the I's and crossed the T's in a trade early Tuesday afternoon.  McTavish was moved to the Braves for cash.  There were no other players involved in the transaction.

"The Braves were banged up on the back end and we had eight," said Pete Zubersky.  "Brendan was sitting out some games and he really needed to be playing.  We also wanted Stefan Grunert and Hunter Jensen to see more ice time as well and so this move will help all three of those kids.  The Braves had a need and it was a natural move.  MacT does not have to move anywhere and there are a couple of his mates from the Midget team last season playing in Saanich right now.  I think it will be a pretty easy transition for him when he walks into their room for the first time.  The Peninsula Panthers want to thank Brendan for his time with the Club and wish him the best of luck with Saanich.  He is a really solid puck-moving defenceman and it was really tough to see him go."

The Panthers will not have too long to welcome their former defenceman back into the friendly confines of the Panorama Recreation Centre.  The Club will host the Oceanside Generals on Friday night and after hitting the road next Wednesday at the Q Centre in Colwood in a game against the Wolves, they will host the Braves on November 9th.
