Panthers welcome in Wolves for 2018/19 Home Opener

2018-09-06

The 2018/19 edition of the Peninsula Panthers open at home on Friday night.

The Peninsula Panthers Organization has made plans for a very special pre-game ceremony for their home opener and one that any fan of the game will not want to miss. Fans are encouraged to be seated by 7:25 pm.

After a bitter 4-3 loss on Wednesday night at the hands of the Westshore Wolves, the Peninsula Panthers held a spirited practice on Thursday evening.  The Club will welcome the visiting Westshore Wolves into the confines of the Panorama Recreation Centre however during part of the pre-game ceremony every player and fan will be pulling in the same direction.

"Coreen has really worked hard to make Friday night a special one and her fingerprints are all over this," said Pete Zubersky of his wife and President of the Panthers.  "And Jason King, who recently jumped on board with the Panthers to run the video screen, has done a lion's share of work himself.  This pre-game ceremony will be a memorable one for the fans and players from both the Wolves and Panthers.  We ask that everyone arrive a bit early and in their seats by 7:25pm.  I believe that the Kiwanis Kafe concession will shut down during the pre-game as the Kiwanis Club membership want to watch the ceremony as well.

The game is a big one for both South Division teams.
