Carson Cox is back for his 3rd season on the Peninsula with the Panthers and he is looking to make an impact for all 48 Regular Season games and beyond.

Carson Cox had a season last year that was at times remarkable, and at other times left something to be desired.  But the big and ripped Panthers' forward always had a smile on his face and was one of 11 Peninsula Panthers who were selected to the VIJHL South Division Prospects team.  Cox has one of the hardest snap shots in the League and just needs to refine his accuracy to take the next step.  And like an big alligator, Cox would love to take a bit of a bigger bite this time around.

"Carson started last year like a house on fire and finished like one," explained Panthers' bench boss Brad Tippett.  "We will be working with him on hitting the net more often with lower shots. Improvement in those areas will go a long way and he is certainly looking at staying hot for 48 games this season. He uses his great skating ability and speed to be one of the Club’s top forecheckers. Carson, who is strong in the face-off circle, will likely see duty as both a center and a left winger."

Cox was a product of the Saanich Minor Hockey Association and attended the Panthers Spring Camp a couple of years ago as a wide-eyed 17-year-old.  He had a great camp and at the end of the weekend was asked by Pete Zubersky if he was offered a card would he commit.  Cox said that he would and even though he was shown some interest by another Club in the VIJHL, he stuck to his word and signed with the Cats from the Peninsula.

"Carson is a great young man," said Zubersky.  He is confident off the ice and when he shows that same confidence when he is on the sheet, he is dynamic."

The big forward is a gym rat and undoubtedly is perhaps the player most committed to a workout regime in the entire VIJHL.  In this his 3rd year on the Panthers and in the League, he will be expected to take on a leadership role both on and off the ice.

Cox enjoys getting out with friends especially when it involves some type of activity.  He loves to golf and finds it a great time to socialize.

His favourite saying and one that he got from Coach Tippett is, "Which alligator do you shoot first??  The one that's closest to the boat!"

Cox and the Panthers' brass are looking for him to slay a lot of alligators this 2018/19 season.  And after the exhibition season, he will get that chance at the Panorama Recreation Centre when the Panthers host the Westshore Wolves on Friday, September 7th at 7:30 p.m.
