Yamamoto and Spink co-MVP winners

A gathering of 120 people filled the Bodine Hall at the Mary Winspear Centre on Saturday night to celebrate the Peninsula Panthers 2017/18 regular season.  It was a heart-felt evening in which winners in 11 different categories were announced.  Several awards had two winners named as follows;

Community Leadership - Chris Akerman
Volunteer of the Year - Peter Besteman
Fan Favorite - Riley Braun and Logan Speirs
Most Improved - Chris Akerman and Matt Lawrence
Top Scorer - Josh Lingard
Most Sportsmanlike - Marshall Brown and Josh Lingard
Unsung Hero - Tanner Wort and Jack McMillan
Rookie of the Year - Riley Braun and Skyler Diamond Burchuk
Best Defenceman - Braeden Hansen
Steve Simpson Memorial - Ty Hermsen
Most Valuable Player - Shota Yamamoto and Thomas Spink

The Playoff MVP will be named at the end of the current playoffs.

The Panthers 1st round opponent has been set and the Club will travel up Island on Tuesday to open in Campbell River for Game 1 of the Best-of-7 series.

As noted, all games will start at 7:30 pm except for Gm3 at the Panorama Recreation Centre which is set to go at 1:00 pm.
