The Peninsula Panthers will host the Campbell River Storm on Sunday afternoon and their 3rd jersey will be gifted after the game has been completed.

The Peninsula Panthers scored five unanswered goals and routed the visiting Comox Valley Glacier Kings 7-1 on Friday night at the Panorama. 3rd Jersey game vs. Campbell River set for Sunday at 2:30 pm.

The Peninsula Panthers were full value for a 7-1 win over the visiting Comox Valley Glacier Kings and grabbed the all important two points in VIJHL standings.  16-year-old Riley Braun and veteran Marshall Brown each scored twice and added a helper while newly acquired Nolan Lee scored once and added two assists.  Matt Lawrence and Ty Hermsen each added a singe marker in the convincing win in front of the home fans at the Panorama Recreation Centre Friday night.

Chris Akerman was awarded with the win blocking 21 of 22 shots sent in his direction.  Lee, Braun and Brown were named as the three stars of the game.

But the chatter after the game was all about Sunday afternoon when the Campbell River Storm will blow into town for a 2:30 pm start.  The Panthers will wear a 3rd jersey for the game and these will be gifted to 23 lucky Peninsula Minor Hockey Players in an on-ice draw once the final buzzer has sounded.  All PMHA players wearing a jersey will be admitted free of charge to the game and a large crowd is expected.  The Panthers Organization is asking that everyone who will be in attendance to arrive just a little bit early for this one.

"This is always my favorite game of the year," explained Pete Zubersky.  "We usually have a lot of wide eyes and the PMHA players who are lucky enough to win always leave wearing both a jersey and a big smile.  We will also gift six jerseys to lucky fans in attendance and they can get in the draw with the purchase of an insert and program.  Our players will be signing autographs in the lobby after the first intermission and we will have the PMHA Initiation Program players having a mini-game during the 2nd intermission.  I think it will be a great time for everyone."

This will be the Panthers final game before they take an extended Christmas Break.  The Club will be back in actionand bring in the New Year on January 1, 2018 with a 3:30 pm start at home against the visiting Saanich Braves.

Once again, please arrive early on Sunday afternoon for the 2:30 pm start.
