18-year-old Nolan Lee will make his Peninsula Panthers home debut this evening when the "Cats" will look to put the chill on the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.

On Wednesday evening in Saanich a Panthers Club that did not have a lot of zip and dropped a 5-1 decision to the Braves.  It seemed like the squad was skating in mud for most of the night.  When a big save was needed, it did not arrive.  When a defensive play from one of the reargaurds was needed, it did not arrive.  And when a crafty play was needed from a forward, it did not arrive.

One player who did stand out was 18-year-old Nolan Lee who was playing in his first Junior game on a line with Josh Lingard and Marshall Brown.  Nolan made a couple nice passes and could have scored late in the game but his play gave a brief sample of what can be expected in the future and that future for him and his mates begins tonight against the Glacier Kings.

"Nolan played with Gavin Yee out in Toronto on a Chinese based team and when Gavin returned he spoke of Nolan and what he could bring to the team," explained Pete Zubersky.  "The young fellow played Midget in Vancouver last season with the Thunderbirds Organization and I was excited watching him on Wednesday.  The kid can play.  He is smart, makes nice plays and will go to the areas of the ice where he needs to be.  Saanich has a small rink but I think tonight our fans will be in for a real treat watching Lee on the bigger surface.  The youngster can really get around on the sheet.  We are all really thrilled he decided to join our Club and he will immediately make us better."

The Panthers need to put up a win tonight to get right back into the thick of things in the South Division of the VIJHL.  The puck drops at 7:30 pm at the Panorama Recreation Centre.
