Twas the night before Christmas

The Peninsula Panthers wish each and every one of you a healthy and safe Christmas season and the best in 2017. We are back after Christmas and host the KP Islanders on Wednesday, December 28 and the Westshore Wolves on Friday, December 30. Enjoy!

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the arena,
Not a player was stirring, not even Coreena.
The equipment was hung in the locker with care,
Coach Tippett relaxing, wearing Saxx underwear.

The players all hustled with helmets on head,
Now resting at Christmas, put hockey to bed.
It’s time for our families, don’t forget Dad...pour a drink,
But his shot pales in comparison to smooth Thomas Spink.

But even though it’s Christmas and we look for Saint Nick,
We can’t forget Hermy who knows trick after trick.
For that matter we laugh as we think of our teammates,
All the while Josh Armstrong will be sharpening our skates.

Our two goalers are ready, Anderson and Tutte,
Both scratching for wins to get us out of this rut.
Marshall Brown stirs ‘em up and pops goal after goal,
Warmy and Hansen check hard, as they know their role.

Shota Yam is a rookie but is scrapy like a vet,
Keefe, Lucs, Parky and Mo gone but we do not forget.
And poor Garnett Roberts’ feet extend way past his bed,
When he comes in the door he often does bump his head.

We sure do love Coxy, he has wrists like a bull,
When he shoots the round biscuit, the nets are quite full.
And of course Zack Evans, “Slash” knows when to pinch,
When it comes to the rough stuff, he never does flinch.

Number 9 sure can fly, Drew Coughlin his name,
He’s a rocket, a jet, the fastest in this sweet game.
And of course the king of annoying, why that’s Koby Hale
When the puck is dropped, opponents go off the rail.

We have Holden and Duncan, they are quite the pair
With brother Carter in hockey too, parents losing their hair!
Charlish and Fletcher, these guys keep score in the box,
But they are clearly two homers, Panthers score they do rock!

Jack McMillan asks questions, asks them all the day long,
He wants to play the game right, he will never do wrong.
His linemate is Joe, Stafford-Veale he does rock,
But he loses his computer, his jersey, his socks!!

Injuries no doubt have played a big part this year,
When Owens returned we knew wins would appear.
He changes number every year, this season he’s 4,
But he gets what he wants ‘cause he knows how to score.

Josh Poland’s the Captain, plays up and back..quite a digger,
But when he plays up at forward, often he pulls the trigger.
We got him in a trade from the Braves, it was quite a steal,
The player was good, but his smile sealed the deal!

Michael Sproule’s been an enigma, what are you going to see??
When he brings his “A” game, coach Tippett fills up with glee.
Kai Turner’s a great kid, he can score and is plucky,
He can even score off his butt, he is very “Lucky.”.

Bailey Ross is so skilled, his talent plain for all to see,
When he rushes the puck, our fans are filled with glee.
You ask him a question, he’ll always show you his smile,
But he goes out every shift and does skate a mile.

Almost time to enjoy Christmas, will be back after the break,
With a focus on the standings and great strides we will make.
We’ll eat turkey, potatoes and stuffing ‘til we burst,
And good things will come after January 1st.

We will enjoy all the presents and laugh, we will sing,
And all the joy of our families and friends it will bring.
For this is the season for closeness, and maybe it’ll be white,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
