The Peninsula Panthers or the Westshore Wolves' season will end either in two or three games and Game 5 on Monday night at the Panorama Recreation Centre is the biggest of the season for both teams.

The Peninsula Panthers finished 2nd in the VIJHL South Division, just a single point better than that of the Westshore Wolves.  And the two Clubs are playing in a best-of-7 series that is every bit as tight.  On Sunday night at the Q Centre in Colwood the Wolves prevailed, this time winning in the 1st overtime period by a 3-2 count.  And with the win, the Wolves have now tied the series at 2-2 and for all intents and purposes, have now made this a best-of-3.

The Panthers were uncharacteristically sent to the sin bin nine times on the evening and penalties ultimately decided who would win the game.  The Wolves scored twice on the power play, once with a two-man advantage as well as the overtime marker.  "There is no doubt that our guys were rattled over the amount and types of calls that were going against us but we tried to play through it and give ourselves a chance to win," said Pete Zubersky  "In the end, the Wolves were a goal better and we will have to put in a much better effort on Monday back at home.  I expect that we will."

The Wolves Tomba Huddlestan in the 1st stanza and then Brandon Tutte on a two-man advantage in the 2nd period gave the Wolves the two-goal cushion going into the final period.  But Ben Dawson tipped in a shot off the stick of Garnett Roberts at the 6:32 mark of the final frame and then with Panthers starter Alex Olson on the bench for the extra attacker, Spencer Loverock took a pass from Cam Thompson and wristed a shot towards Wolves starter Leighton Williams.  Josh Poland tipped the shot and it went over Williams to send the game into overtime.  There were only 12 seconds left in the game.

The Panthers took control of the overtime and had a brilliant opportunity however, Williams made a nice pad save.  Koby Hale was heading to the net on a 2-on-1 with Ty Hermsen and after the play went up ice, Hale was whistled for a penalty.  "I didn't see the play but I did see a play in the neutral zone only 15 seconds earlier," said Zubersky.  "I really have no comment on what I feel about calls or non-calls in the game and in overtime.  The Westshore Wolves announcer and color guy had some interesting comments during the first minute of overtime and I probably agree with them."

The Wolves wasted no time taking care of the penalty call to Hale.  Only 24 seconds after Hale went to the sin bin, Nicholas Polomark scored for the Wolves to knot the series at 2-2.

The puck drops at the Panorama Recreation Centre Monday at 7:30 p.m.
