"Cat" fight Friday night on evening sponsored by Peninsula CO-OP

2016-02-05

#9 Grayden Hohl wins the puck battle with the Victoria Cougars last Thursday night, while #25 Cam Thompson and #2 Mitch Moloney garner close support. The Cougars are in on Friday night for their last visit of the regular season in a very much anticipated-game.

A pair of big cats will claw it out Friday night at the Panorama Recreation Centre in a game which will have a significant impact on VIJHL standings for both squads.

The Victoria Cougars will invade the friendly confines of the Panorama Recreation Centre this Friday night in what looks to be an extremely important game for both sides.  The Cougars currently have the slimmest of leads in the overall standings in the VIJHL, while the Peninsula Panthers would like nothing more than to lock up 2nd place in the south.

This game will be the last time the Cougars will visit the Panorama this regular season, although there is a strong possibility the two Clubs could meet up once again the post-season.

General Manager, Pete Zubersky is well aware of the significance of this game.  "We believe that we can compete with the Victoria Cougars, although it is going to take a real team effort and a buy-in from every single player.  The game is big for both Clubs, we wouldn't want it any other way."

The Peninsula CO-OP is the Game Sponsor for the evening and they have planned quite a number of fan-friendly events.  There will be a lot of prizes and the evening will most certainly be a treat for all the fans in attendance.

The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. and a large crowd is expected.
