Three Peninsula Panthers played a key role in propelling the South Division All-Stars to a big win over their North Division foes on a rainy Sunday evening in Colwood.

Cameron Thompson is certainly making a splash in his inagural season in Junior Hockey with the Peninsula Panthers.  The slick 17-year-old right winger has racked up 20 goals and leads the Panthers in scoring with only seven games to go in the regular season.  But on Sunday night, his fan base may have got just a little bit bigger as Thompson racked up three goals and three assists for a six-point night to lead the South Division to a 14-4 thrashing of the North Division in the VIJHL All-Star game at the Q-Centre in Colwood.

Thompson was not the only Panthers' player to have an impact on the game.  After taking the ceremonial face-off, the "Cats" Captain, Spencer Loverock raced up and down the ice all night long, once again confirming that no player in the VIJHL skates better.  And Grayden Hohl also had a big night as he chipped in with four helpers in the win.  Trevor Owens had been selected to attend however, had to pull out of the game when he received an injury midway through the game on Saturday night up in Nanaimo against the Buccaneers.

"I had a lot of fun," said the understated Thompson.  "So did Grayden and Spencer.  Every time I looked at them they were smiling."

Thompson gave a lot of the credit to the players he was linked up with on the night.  "It's easy to play with the guys I was playing with tonight.  They always seemed to be in the right spot," he added.

Thompson and his mates will be at it once again on Friday night when they hope to give the Oceanside Generals their marching orders.  The puck is set to drop at 7:30 pm at the Panorama Recreation Centre.
