18-year-old Connor Logan was moved yesterday by the Peninsula Panthers to the Campbell River Storm for future considerations. Logan spent the past two seasons on the Peninsula and has hopes of moving to Junior "A" and beyond.

Campbell River Storm Head Coach/GM Lee Stone and Panthers owner Pete Zubersky had been involved in trade talks for 18-year-old Connor Logan for several weeks and on Tuesday afternoon they pulled the trigger on a deal that will see Logan in uniform for the Storm on Friday evening.  Logan was close to cracking the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL but had been returned to the Panthers only two weeks ago and had played four games with the Club. During that time he had collected four points on two goals and two assists.

"Connor was disappointed in not making the jump and he had made indications that he would like to see a change to get a fresh start," explained Zubersky.  "There were quite a number of teams that were showing interest but I have had dealings with the Storm and felt comfortable in moving Connor up there."  I spoke to him on Monday evening after practice and asked him where he prefered to go and he was really quite open and named only a couple locations that didn't suit what he was looking for.  Lee was agressive in my dealings with him, he wanted to add Logan to the mix and did not want him going to another Club in the VIJHL.  Connor seemed quite excited about the move and I think it will be a good fit for the Storm and for Connor."

Zubersky indicated that the move was for future considerations and that he was in discussions with other teams as he looked to add to the mix with his Club.  "This move allows some of the up and coming players and some of the veterans to get more minutes in offensive situations, minutes that Connor would have taken.  They will get better and their development will be sped up due to this move and so I look a bit at it as addition by subtraction.  I will continue to work the phone lines to see what we can add but I believe this will afford an opportunity for some of our other guys to step up and they should be excited about that."

"Connor was a great kid during his two-year stint out here on the Peninsula, " said Zubersky.  "Our entire Organization thank him for the time he spent developing here and we wish him all the best and hope that he does realize all of his hockey goals."

The Panthers travel to Westshore to do battle with the Wolves this evening and will then be back home on Friday night when they host the visiting Kerry Park Islanders.
